Summary of activities

A range of arts and cultural projects were undertaken in the 2014-15 financial year including: multiple workshops run in Aboriginal Communities on the Mid North Coast with participants from 3 - 85 years of age. An Australia day Festival held in Coffs Harbour was a whole of community celebration showcasing Aboriginal culture to over 15,000 people. All projects focused on reviving cultural skills, strengthening cultural identity and involving the broader community in Aboriginal cultural expression. Additionally, the National Aboriginal Design Agency worked with Aboriginal Artists to achieve economic independence through their own cultural skills. In the six years of existence, the charity has found that we are actually achieving measurable positive social and economic outcomes in the communities we work in. Former dance students are now dance mentors with ABNs and GST registration, festival staff now work across multiple events throughout the year and youth are making positive life choices from their connection to community and Aboriginal networks.
