On 28 October 2019, the ACNC responded to the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB)'s Exposure Draft 296 – Disclosure of Accounting Policies: Proposed amendments to AASB 101 and AASB Practice Statement 2.​

On 23 October 2019, the ACNC provided a submission to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services for the inquiry into regulation of auditing.

On 25 September 2019, the ACNC lodged a submission to the Attorney-General's Department's Consultation on the Religious Freedom Bills.

On 4 September 2019, the ACNC responded to the Australian Accounting Standards board (AASB)’s Exposure Draft 291 Not-for-profit Entity Definition and Guidance.

On 5 August 2019, the ACNC responded to the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB)’s Exposure Draft 293 Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards – Disclosure in Special Purpose Financial Statements of Compliance with Recognition and Measurement Requirements.

In the second half of 2019, the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters held an inquiry into the 2019 Federal Election.

The ACNC lodged a submission to that inquiry in September.

On 5 February 2019, the ACNC made a submission to the Treasury Consultation on ASIC Industry Funding Model and Registry Search Fees

2018 submissions

On 30 November 2018, the ACNC responded to the Australian Accounting Standards board (AASB)’s Exposure Draft 286 Amendments to Australian Accounting Standards – Right-of-Use Assets of Not-for-Profit Entities.

On 24 October 2018 the ACNC responded to the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB)'s Consultation Paper ICT 39 on Applying the IASB’s Revised Conceptual Framework and Solving the Reporting Entity and Special Purpose Financial Statement Problems.

On 24 October 2018, the ACNC made a submission to the Treasury Consultation on the proposed Modernising Business Registers and Director Identification Numbers legislation.

On Thursday 12 July 2018, the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee published the ACNC's submission to the review of the Modern Slavery Bill 2018.

Our submission focuses on the Bill's impact on charities registered with the ACNC, particularly the potential regulatory burden charities may face.

On 13 February 2018, the ACNC made a submission to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security, in relation to the proposed Foreign Influence Transparency Scheme Bill 2017.

In December 2017, the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters announced that it would conduct a review of political donations as part of its broader inquiry into the 2016 election. The Committee will also examine the Electoral Legislation Amendment (Electoral Funding and Disclosure Reform) Bill 2017.

On 25 January 2018, the ACNC made a submission to the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters, in relation to the proposed Bill, commonly referred to in the media as the Foreign Donations Bill.

In December 2017, the Government announced the terms of reference for the legislated five-year review of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission Act 2012 (Cth) and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (Consequential and Transitional) Act 2012 (Cth), both of which commenced operation in December 2012.
